Honourable DCE of Gomoa East and District Directors Lead Tree Planting Initiative

In celebration of World Environment Day, the District Chief Executive honourable Naana Akom  and district directors embarked on a tree planting project today, June 5, 2025. 
The initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability and restore the district's forest cover.

The project, themed "Planting Trees for Life, aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and promote biodiversity conservation. The DCE and directors planted trees at a designated site Infront of the district assembly emphasizing the importance of community involvement in environmental conservation.

This initiative is part of  the green Ghana broader effort to engage communities in tree planting activities, providing opportunities for education, community bonding, and environmental stewardship. The project also highlights the district's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting sustainable development.
By taking proactive steps towards environmental sustainability, the district is setting an example for other communities to follow. The success of this initiative will depend on continued community engagement and support.

Speaking on the initiative, 
Honourable Naana Akom (DCE) call the attention of the communities and Ghana as large to help in planting trees around their various houses, river banks and the necessaries areas to promote good health, she continues on a proverb saying when the last tree died the last person also died. This means tress are the greatest nature ways of mankind living on earth.

Honourable Naana Akom warned the individuals citizens of destroying tress unlawful way and if any caught will Go to prisons not less than 2 years and will plant replacements of ten trees additional with other punishment.
