Gomoa East district Assembly has commissioned a 4-bedroom Community-based health planning and services (CHPS) compound at Panfokrom.

The project completed within a 3-month period was originally to be cited at Fetteh Kakraba, also in the district but relocated due to land issues.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East, Honourable, Solomon Darko –Quarm, disclosed of his excitement about how the traditional authorities hurriedly gave out land for the project .He commended the contractor for sourcing funds to complete the project by himself.

He also disclosed tables, chairs as well as consumables to treat patients to treat patients have been stocked in the facility and treatment of patients commences as soon as possible.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa East, Desmond Degraft Paitoo, commended the former MP. Honourable Kojo Assemaning and the DCE for their commitment in completing the facility and assured he would also do his best to promote health care and others in the area.

He appealed to the chiefs and people of Panfokrom to ensure maintenance of the facility for its longevity.

The District Health Director, Mr. Felix Adepare, assured his outfit would do their best to prevent people from travelling out of town to access health care and appealed for proper maintenance.

The Odikro of Panfokrom, Osagyefo Kwao Panfo Andoh, thanked the authorities as   well as contractor of the appealed for more project in the area to ensure development.

He again, appealed for the lighting problems in the area to be fixed, extension of electricity poles to new sites, a dining hall for Panpoly Vocational Training Institute among others.

The contractor for the project, Kingsford Ofori of KEMSTEC COMPANY LTD, thanked the assembly and the chiefs and people and the assembly for the cooperation given him which has enabled him complete the project on time.
