MEENA BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION has cut the sod to construct Breast care and Health Centre at Potsin Ahmediyya senior high school to serve the health needs of the students and the people in the area.

The project whose duration will last for about four (4) months will comprise of patience rooms, stores, theaters, laboratory, waiting area among others

The CEO OF MEENA BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION, Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, disclosed at the ceremony that, he is compassionate about breast cancer issue because his wife lost her life due the disease.

He said the foundation visits schools and other organization’s to sensitize people on breast cancer and revealed during such visit to P-AMASS in October last year, 3 girls were detected with lumps in their breast during examination and were referred to the Korle- Bu teaching hospital for treatment.

He encouraged people not to wait till the unfortunate happens but to continue examining their breast particularly 3-days after each menstruation, since   early detection saves .

The District Health Director for Gomoa East, Mr. Felix Adepare, thanked the foundation and called on other NGOs for such facilities to augment health infrastructure of the area since the population of the enclave keeps increasing by day, and also assured of this outfits collaboration to ensure a successful completion of the facility.

Headmistress of P-AMASS, Hajia Zainab Adams, thanked the foundation for the gesture and promised to maintain the facility when completed.
