As part of activities marking the Green Ghana Day on Friday10th June, 2022, the Gomoa East district assembly was presented with a total of Three Thousand Five Hundred tree seedlings from the Forestry Commission Winneba.

The seedlings included Coconut, Mahogany, Acasia, Ofram, and Umbrella plant among others, for onward distribution to some, institutions and schools both Secondary and basic and to some individuals to be planted at their premises.

The schools which were presented with the seedlings are Fettehman S.H.S, Potsin Ahmadiyya S.H.S, Panfokrom J.H.S and primary ,Tekyeam basic school , to mention a few .

A visit to some places where some of these seedlings were planted a year ago revealed about 70 per cent of the seedlings were doing very well ,whiles other 30 percent have been lost due to lack of attention which include lack of weeding, improper fencing ,lack of watering among others.
