14.May.2026

The Gomoa East District joined the rest of the nation to commemorate Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebration under the theme “Reflect, Review and Reset.” The colorful ceremony brought together traditional leaders, security services, school children, assembly members, and government officials to celebrate Ghana’s journey of freedom, unity, and development.

Addressing the gathering, district authorities called on residents, especially the youth, to uphold discipline, patriotism, and hard work in order to contribute meaningfully to national growth. The event featured march past displays by various schools and security agencies, cultural performances, and patriotic recitals that showcased the rich heritage and unity of the district.

The celebration also served as a moment of reflection on the sacrifices of Ghana’s forefathers and a renewed commitment by the people of Gomoa East to support government efforts aimed at development and improving the lives of citizens.
