The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East District Assembly Hon. Margaret Naana Ackom has commissioned a 4-seater water closet (W.C) toilet facility for Budumburam D/A Basic School in the Central Region of Ghana. The commissioning ceremony which brought together the Traditional Authorities, Education officials,Assembly Members, Staff, Pupils and Community Members forms part of the efforts by the District Assembly to improve sanitation and promote a healthy learning environment in public basic schools. In her address the DCE emphasized the importance of proper sanitation in schools. Noting that access to decent toilet facilities is essential for enhancing teaching and learning. She stated that the provision of the facility would help reduce open defecation and improve hygiene practices among pupils. The DCE further edged the school authorities to take good care of the facility to ensure its sustainability.

She reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to undertaking more infrastructural projects aimed at improving the welfare of the school children across the district.
